A New Sesame Street Character With Autism Gets Introduced...

I think this is a great idea for Sesame Street do introduce an autistic character. Back in Season 13 of Arthur, they introduced Carl. An autistic boy with Asperger's Sydrome become George's friend. I have Asperger's myself and I can relate to Carl in my many ways. Except I never got into fetal position anytime I got scared when I was little.
Anyway, it's great that shows are starting to introduce autistic characters more often.

Really? An autistic character on Sesame Street? That's awesome!
Must be autism day because earlier I watched a video clip about an autistic boy. It was on a Jehovah's Witness website though so PM me please if you want to see it.
I think I know one more cartoon that features an autistic character, it's on Caillou. The character's name is Andy and I think he's in the Season 5 episodes. There's no mention of him having autism but there are clues to look for:
-The boy isolates himself
-He likes to draw
-He hates loud noises
-He's good at capturing details (he said Castles need flags or something like that)
I don't know any other cartoon that features autistic people and I'm not sure Ralph from the Simpsons counts, or Dil Pickles from Rugrats All Grown Up (I like to think he's autistic but what if he isn't?), Twister from Rocket Power, or Cosmo from Fairly Odd Parents count as autistic characters. It was also mentioned that Nonny from Bubble Guppies has it but I'm not sure that's true.
Though I'm not real big on Sesame Street like I was as a kid, but wouldn't mind watching it, I mean I've loved Big Bird, and I like Elmo and Grover and Bert too, but I'd like to see that. Almost anything with autism interests me.
...provided those with autism are portrayed right!

I explain every little thing in detail too!

I think it's cool that they're branching out with their characters. Of course, there will be complainers, but it's been a long time coming.
I mean, Arthur has so many people with disabilities like Marina(blindness), George(dyslexia), Fern(depression), Lydia(paralytic), Carl and Brain's uncle(autism).
More shows should expand like that.

I couldn't agree more!
